Last week I revealed I was working on collaborating with another producer…
At first, it was going well…
The producer sent me a HUGE pack of beats. (Over 40 beats)
And there were a lot of BANGERS!
I was excited…
I chose about 12 beats and added them to my “Beats To Write To” playlist.
Then, I got to work last Thursday…
I recorded a draft of 2 songs and I started on a third…
By Saturday I had one song fully written.
A song that is absolute FLAMES…
I had a blast creating this song and even more fun listening to it back 20+ times…
Then it all came crashing down:
I DMed the producer on discord and I asked him to send me the stems for the 2 beats I recorded drafts over.
He got back to me a day later and it wasn’t good news…
This is what he said:
“I actually, don’t have the stems to them due to the corruption of my hard drive on my pc”
Now, I don’t know if this is an excuse or a legitimate problem…
Hard drives get corrupted and that sucks.
But the important thing is:
I don’t have the stems to mix these songs.
So I can’t use these beats.
I also asked him if there was any way he could get the stems and he said no.
So, now I need to reproduce the song myself…
And I WON’T EVER be working with this guy again.
I can’t work with people that slow me down or fail to come through.
You get one chance!
But, If I didn’t learn how to produce my own songs, I’d be at his mercy…
And I’d probably be FORCED to release the song with a low quality mix…
This is why it’s SO important to be able to produce your own songs…
Being able to produce my own beats helped me save myself from releasing a song that doesn’t sound professional…
It stopped me from being at the mercy of this producer…
I can take my song into my own hands and make it work…
This experience has reminded me why I like to rely on MYSELF!
Do you wanna be able to do the same?
The good news is you CAN:
You can discover how to produce beats for your songs from scratch, today…
And, this is the perfect time to learn, before you gotta go back to work.
