​Yesterday, I spent at least 5 HOURS mixing, mastering and exporting beats.
Did I do this because I love it?
​Yesterday, I spent at least 5 HOURS mixing, mastering and exporting beats.
Did I do this because I love mixing, mastering and exporting beats​?
No.
I did it because it was necessary.
I did it because I love making music…
I did it because organising and releasing my music is the price I have to pay so I can do the fun part of making the music.
Trust me, it was boring af and I wasn’t looking forward to this tedious task at all…
The worst part is:
It took soooo long to do that I had to push the other tasks on my to-do list to today…
I basically spent a whole day doing boring work that I didn’t enjoy.
But, damn that work was productive…I can’t even front…
Because, today I get to release 6+ beats on my beat store for you to check out and download.
6+ assets that can sell and keep bringing in ££ for YEARS.
I say 6+ because I honestly lost count of how many beats I exported after a while…
I just got lost in the work and absolutely ploughed through it.
That’s what happens when you fall into “the zone”…
At first, you’re dreading the mind-numbing work…then it just starts to flow out of you and you find your rhythm.
All of a sudden the work seems super easy and you fly through it.
But the sad truth is:
Most people don’t even get to that part…
They give up long before they reach the zone…
And, there’s a big reason for that.
In fact, if you understand this reason, you can plough through your own tedious work pretty easily and come out on the the end smiling like me.
So what’s this big reason?
Here it is:
Your passion and ambition MUST outweigh the tedium of the work you have to do…
You absolutely HAVE to be able to see the bigger picture.
That’s why people who are JUST doing something for the money usually fail…
They don’t have the fire in their heart to push through the hard, tedious and mind-numbing work.
And, there’s ALWAYS work to be done.
You gotta love your craft so much that you don’t mind doing the boring parts…
It’s even better if you learn to love the journey…
You’ve probably heard this quote before:
“If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life”
Well, that’s a big fat LIE!
You will never escape the “work” part…even when you’re doing something you love…
