I had no clue what I was doing when I started working out as a teenager.
Lacking knowledge led to:
– Less muscle growth
– Wasted effort
– Wasted time
Avoiding these mistakes is easy when you understand this…
The 3 essential Ingredients for growing muscle:
1. Destroy your muscles:
You gotta break your muscles down to build muscle
Do this by lifting heavy weights (or body weight exercises) close to failure
This creates microscopic tears in your muscle fibers
These muscle tears start the muscle building process
That’s not all:
2. Progressive overload:
To keep building muscle – you gotta keep challenging your muscles
Do this by:
– increasing the weight
– Increasing the reps
– Increasing the sets
Keep lifting close to failure and progressively overloading for never-ending gains
Most important step:
3. Rest is best:
After destroying your muscles – your body works on repairing your muscles
Your body rebuilds your torn muscle fibers – making them thicker & stronger
While you’re sleeping – your body’s building muscle and recovering
Protein + sleep = muscle building
