If you can’t control your emotions – you’re easily controlled by others.

Yesterday, I posted a tweet that made many people angry and upset.

Here’s the tweet:

This tweet’s in response to Trump saying he would end the Ukraine war within 24 hours.

My tweet describes an easy way to end the war in 24 hours.

Here’s the logic behind my tweet:

If Trump stops sending Ukraine weapons (& aid) and tells them to make peace (or surrender)…

Ukraine is in a terrible position.

They have 2 choices:

1. Fight until they lose

2. Surrender and negotiate peace

Both options end the war.

Basic logic, right?

The interesting part:

This tweet has over 183 replies.

Mostly from emotional people calling me dumb or explaining why Ukraine needs to be saved from big bad Russia.

Not 1 person explains why my point is wrong.

Because the logic stands.

The crazy part is:

It doesn’t matter if I’m correct – they’re so emotionally invested that they need to say something.

Even if they’re not making any sense.

Even if they know I’m right.

They assume the worst and attack opinions I don’t have.

I never stated this was the best way to end the war.

It’s not a great outcome for the Ukrainian government.

But, without a good counterargument – the next best thing is to attack things I didn’t say or divert the conversation.

People accused me of supporting genocide.

People accused me of supporting Russia.

People accused me of being stupid.

None of these things are true.

I don’t care about the war in Ukraine.

Just like most don’t care about the wars in Yemen or Ethiopia.

People pretend they care about the War in Ukraine because propaganda and virtue signallers tell them to.

I only care about things that affect me, my family, my friends and my community.

This is why I don’t get emotional about current issues and stuff on the internet.

I don’t care enough to get upset.

A reasonable person who thinks my tweet is a bad solution would say:

“This would end the war – but it’s a bad solution.

We should do this instead [Their solution]”

Reasonable people are rare.

Most people attack when they see something they dislike – even when it’s the truth.

State the fact that being fat is unhealthy – insecure fat people jump out the woodwork to attack you.

The first step to caring less about BS is caring more about yourself.

Take care of your body and your mind.

Then take care of your friends and family.

Then take care of your community.

When you’re focused on taking care of these things – you don’t have time or energy to care about bullshit that doesn’t affect you.

My book “ Getting Lean ” gives you eveything you need to take care of your body.

Future newsletters dive into taking care of your mind.

Becoming the best version of yourself inspires people around you to better themselves.

Then those people inspire the people around them to better themselves.

The cycle continues until the world’s better.

When you control yourself and your emotions you realise it’s easy to control others and make them react.

Use this power wisely.

Control your emotions and you can control the world.

Talk soon,

Jay Cartere
