What you feed your mind is more important than you think…

Reading negative comments…

Listening to people complain all day…

Consuming a conveyor belt full of negative news…

These things have an effect on you…even if you don’t notice at first.

The more negative content you consume, the more negatively you will think…

If you’re constantly bombarded with the complaints and entitlement of competitive complainers…

Don’t be surprised when you start complaining and feeling entitled to a better life…instead of actually doing the work.

But, here’s the thing:

This also works in the other direction…

Whatever you focus your mind on will be the main theme of your thoughts…

When you focus on gossip, school shootings and all the problems in the world, your subconscious will cook it up.

When you focus on studying, learning and growing your skills, your subconscious will latch onto that too.

Here’s an example:

For the past week or so, I’ve been super demotivated to work…

Because sitting up for long periods of time is really uncomfortable for me right now due to my back problems.

Every day I’m confronted with my back ache and it’s always on my mind.

I’m taking it easy, as I should…

But, that’s not all:

I haven’t listened to music for days.

Result: I’m not super excited to make music.

But, yesterday, I started watching a bunch of videos on music theory…

I started expanding my musical knowledge…

Guess what happened.

Now my mind is racing and I am GAGGING to produce some music and test out these new concepts.

So, I’m gonna make some music today.

The point is:

Consume whatever you want your mind to focus on…

If you want to be depressed and demotivated – focus on negative, useless stuff.

If you want to be productive and move closer towards your goals, then drown yourself in useful information about your art…

Consume as much content as you can around your art.

Make your mind diet healthy.
