It’s far too hot in London right now, my g…

I’ve woken up feeling a little sick, a little tired and I’m really not excited to fight the sun today…

But, this has me thinking about burnout…

Recently, I made a decision that’s going to keep burnout very far away from me…

Unfortunately, I can’t do the same with this warm, sticky weather.

What would it mean to you, if you could avoid burnout and create freely?

I’m gonna share the breakthrough I discovered with you, in this email…

But, before we jump to that, you need to understand this:

Burnout is no joke and it happens to the best of us…

It can make you unproductive AF…

It can make you feel like shit…

Which then keeps you unproductive…it’s a vicious cycle.

And, that’s not all:

Burnout will slow you down dramatically with an unwanted break from your work.

Whatever goals you have, burnout will help you stay away from them like a bad father avoiding his kids so he can continue to live his best life…

It’s hard to make progress when you’re sick of working and creating…

The thing is:

As a content creator, you can end up turning most parts of your life into content for others…

This can become INCREDIBLY stressful…

You can find yourself starting to live for OTHERS instead of yourself…

That’s very dangerous for your mental health and motivation…

But, this week I’ve started implementing a trick that gives me much more balance as a creator:

Every creator needs to find a sweet spot between doing what they wanna do…and serving the market.

For a long time, I’ve been focusing on serving the market (for the most part) and focusing on my own personal projects on the weekends…

This approach works okay…

But, it has big problems… for example:

The longer I spend away from writing songs…the longer it takes me to write a song.

Why?

Because, I’m not keeping my writing muscles sharp if I’m only writing songs every other weekend etc.

Consistently practising skills is how you become great…and I wanna be great.

Don’t you?

Here’s the solution I’m moving forward with…

1 for me, 1 for you…

(I got this concept from Sara Dietchy btw, shout out to her!)

What does this mean?

Here it is:

Every other day will be a day dedicated to providing great value to my audience.

On the days I’m NOT doing that, I’ll focus on building my skills and working on stuff I feel like working on.

The stuff that I FEEL like working on will likely be SUPER valuable to you…

But the point is:

I’m working on that stuff with NO responsibility or expectations to make it valuable…

This gives me the space to create great work without the pressure.

This keeps my week being fun, fresh and exciting…

This gives me more freedom and less time constraints to make what I want.

And, you can do this too!

It’s important to keep things fun and exciting for YOU, and not JUST for your audience.

Remember that!

Now…are you interested in learning how to make music?

All the best,
