YouTube SEO Marketing Campaign: DistroKid

Distrokid sponsored my YouTube channel for a 4 video marketing campaign.

I managed the video SEO and YouTube content marketing campaign to drive affiliate sales and promote the DistroKid brand.

Here's what I did:

Keyword Research:

  • Conducted keyword research and customer research to identify the target audience’s most asked questions with low competition & high search volume
  • Conducted market research to identify competitor's high performing content and content lacking effective SEO optimisation
  • Used keyword and market research data to target keywords and content ideas based on likelihood of ranking success

Optimised Video Titles, Descriptions & Tags:

  • Created titles including targeted keyword
  • Created tags including targeted and related keywords
  • Created descriptions including targeted and related keywords
  • Added persuasive copy + links to products in descriptions, cards and end screens.

Content Creation:

  • Wrote, filmed and edited 7 SEO optimised tutorial videos answering target audience’s questions while promoting Distrokid
  • Wrote, filmed and edited product tutorial videos explaining how to use  Distrokid features

Designed YouTube Thumbnails:

  • Researching video thumbnails of competitors on YouTube
  • Planning and designed thumbnails for YouTube videos 



  • Generated 64,530+ views across 7 targeted videos on YouTube


  • Generated 638+ likes across YouTube videos
  • Generated 2400+ clicks to DistroKid products
  • Generated 88+ of comments across YouTube videos
  • Replied to comments answering questions and engaging with commenters to build community


  • Achieved a 6.8% click-through rate 
  • Achieved 141.5%+ ROI

Project Management:

  • I was contacted for sponsorship on March 13, 2020
  • I created and communicated a timeline for 4 sponsored videos to be completed and uploaded by April 8th
  • I delivered all 4 sponsored videos on April 7th
