the rock in a suit - how to look more masculine

Discover how to look more masculine, attractive and strong by reading this article.

Some of us are blessed with a ripped physique and square jaw...

But - most of us need to work towards building a masculine physique and face.

The good news is:

You can look more masculine and handsome if you put the work in and follow some essential steps.

I didn't grow up with a present father or male role models - so I understand how difficult it can be to navigate the waters of masculinity.

Especially when you have to figure it all out yourself.

I'm sharing my experiences and observations to help you look more masculine, attractive, strong and feel more confident.

By the end of this article, you'll understand:

  • how to dress more masculine
  • how to build a masculine body
  • how to exude masculine energy
  • how to adopt a masculine mindset

Grow facial hair

how to grow a beard and look more masculine

This is an easy, low-effort way to appear more masculine.

The sad part is that you might not be able to grow facial hair...

I feel your pain.

I couldn't grow a beard until last year - my genetics said no beard for me

A moustache helps you look more masculine and mature, but a bad moustache hurts more than it helps.

Studies show that women judge men with beards as more attractive for long-term relationships.

If you can't grow a beard - try doing what I did:

Use minoxodil and a dermapen where your beard should be.

Minoxodil and a dermapen are solutions for hair loss - they also work well for growing the beard you thought you'd never get.

Here are links to the same stuff I use:

After using minoxodil twice a day and the dermapen once a week - I grew a beard in about 3 months.

Beforehand, I could NEVER grow a beard - no matter how much I tried.

The minoxodil + dermapen combo is a miracle - thank me later!

Have a masculine haircut

masculine short haircut - how to appear more masculine

Short hair makes you look more masculine.

Long hair makes you look more feminine.

However - your hair type makes a big difference.

A white gentleman with long flowing hair will look more feminine than a black guy with an afro or dreads.

I'm a black guy with long hair (dreads) - this makes me look more feminine.

But I'm masculine enough in various other aspects that I can get away with having long hair.

If you lack masculine traits - having long hair is hurting your chances of looking masculine.

For most men - I suggest you go with a short haircut.

If you're losing your hair - embrace the bald look - it's a masculine haircut but the bald look doesn't work for everyone.

Or, try hair growth options.

But, understand - having visibly thinning hair doesn't make you look masculine at all.

It makes you look tragic - cut it off.

Build a strong, masculine physique

trap muscles from the back - v taper physique

Gaining muscle mass and losing fat is a guaranteed path to becoming a masculine man.

A strong muscular physique says a lot about you.

A fit physical appearance says:

  • You're disciplined
  • You can be consistent
  • You can do hard things
  • You can set targets and reach your goals

These are masculine traits.

Building these muscles gives you a masculine appearance:

  • Traps
  • Lats
  • Delts
  • Chest
  • Quads
  • Biceps
  • Triceps
  • Hamstrings

Use my free workout plans to start building muscle and being proud of your body.

Growing the right muscles and creating a V-taper makes you look more masculine and strong.

Building muscle also raises your testosterone levels and your confidence - both making you appear more masculine.

On the opposite end - having high body fat and low muscle mass makes your body produce more estrogen - making you appear more feminine.

Increased estrogen is the reason why fat men grow boobs.

Boobs are not masculine.

However - a well-built, muscular chest... that's masculine as hell.

Losing body fat is about good nutrition and walking more.

Building muscle mass is about following an effective workout plan that hits your muscles enough and progressively overloading.

Get a pump

"Getting a pump" is what happens after you lift weights in the gym.

Or - you can get a pump by lifting light weights and doing exercises.

A "pump" is when your muscles appear larger and more vascular after doing exercise or "pumping up your muscles".

Bodybuilders and fitness models get a pump before shows or photoshoots.

You can get a pump before taking pictures or going outside.

The "pump" is an extra enhancer - but this doesn't work if you have nothing to enhance.

So - first, you need to build muscle and workout consistently.

Then you can become 5% hotter by "getting a pump".

Take care of your personal hygiene & grooming

man brushing teeth outside

Not washing your ass, smelling of BO and looking sloppy doesn't make you look more masculine.

If you want to appear more masculine - embrace your feminine side and start taking care of your appearance and hygiene.

  • Use deodorant
  • Brush your teeth daily
  • Bathe or shower daily
  • Trim your facial hair regularly
  • Wash your face with a facial scrub daily - this prevents acne and spots
  • Use a little aftershave or cologne (emphasis on "little" - people should smell it when they're close to you - they shouldn't smell you across the room.)

How to create masculine body language

Improve Your Posture

Stand up straight with your chest up and your shoulders back.

Having difficulty keeping correct posture?

Try different exercises and stretches to help you fix your posture.

Improve your confidence

Being confident in yourself shows in your body language and actions.

Working out, building skills and training in martial arts helps create confidence that people can't help but notice.

Lack of confidence has the opposite effect.

People can tell when you're self-conscious, avoiding eye-contact or afraid.

Having inner confidence makes it easier to enter a room and not care about what people think.

Not caring what people think makes you mesmerizing and interesting from a glance.

Don't turtle up with your hands in your pockets and your head looking at the floor.

Raise your head with your shoulders back, and chest up - stand proud.

If you feel like you can't express yourself confidently in public like this yet - work on your inner confidence by doing this:

  • Get in the gym.
  • Learn how to fight.
  • Accomplish something.

Make yourself valuable and interesting.

The secret answer to "how to look more masculine" is - be more confident.

Dress like an adult man

how to dress more masculine - man in t shirt and suit pants

How do you dress like an adult, masculine man?

Answer:

Keep it simple.

When you get in the gym and build a strong, masculine body - a simple t-shirt and jeans looks great on you and showcases your masculine features.

A simple watch and rings are good accessories too.

These are the clothes you should be wearing to look more masculine:

  • Fitted T-shirts
  • Buttoned shirts
  • Sports jackets
  • Polo shirts
  • Chinos
  • Jeans
  • Suits

Avoid these clothes because they make you look immature - making people take you less seriously:

  • T-shirts with large designs
  • Baggy clothes
  • Skinny jeans

Develop a masculine mindset

how to develop a masculine mindset

There's nothing more masculine than a strong-minded man who knows who he is, what he wants and is a man of his word.

How you think and how mentally strong you are either adds or detracts from your masculine energy.

Here's a few examples of what a masculine mindset includes:

  • You don't bend to peer pressure. You think critically and never blindly follow others.
  • You're consistently learning and gaining knowledge - you train your mind as well as your body.
  • You’re a man of your word - you do what you say. You deliver on your promises.
  • You don't make excuses - you take responsibility. You don't blame others - you look for solutions.
  • You have a purpose and goals you're passionate about.

Conclusion on how to look more masculine

Developing a masculine appearance isn't about conforming to stereotypes or trying to be someone else. It's about embracing your unique strengths and qualities as a man, and continuously working towards becoming the best version of yourself.

Cut your hair, grow a beard and take care of your personal grooming.

Focus on developing a strong, fit body and resilient mindset.

Dress in a simple manner.

Doing the above is the answer to "how to look more masculine".

What makes a guy look masculine?

Looking masculine is a combination of factors, including physical appearance (such as strong muscles, facial hair), mindset (confidence and assertiveness), and personal grooming habits.

Embracing your unique qualities as a man and continuously working towards becoming the best version of yourself can also contribute to a more masculine appearance. Ultimately, what makes someone appear masculine may vary from person to person. So it's important to focus on being comfortable in your own skin rather than conforming to societal expectations.

What are the most attractive masculine features?

Some people may find certain physical features more attractive than others, but overall, the most attractive masculine features are a strong and fit body, well-groomed facial hair (if desired), and a confident and assertive mindset.

These traits can exude masculinity and confidence, making someone appear more attractive to others. However, it's important to remember that beauty is subjective and varies from person to person. What one finds attractive may not be the same for another.

So focus on embracing your own unique qualities rather than trying to conform to any specific standard of attractiveness. Ultimately, being comfortable in your own skin is what truly makes someone attractive.
