Is the WORST way to ask someone a question…

Listen…

We’re all busy.

We all have lives and responsibilities.

We should respect each other’s time…

Asking if you can ask a question is disrespectful of both of our time…

Because, instead of asking this useless question…you could have simply asked the question you wanted to ask.

Then the person you’re asking can choose whether to answer or not.

This happened to me last week:

A dude sent me an email asking if he could ask me a question…

Luckily, I’ve recently implemented a rule that reduces a lot of stress and annoyance in my life…

I won’t reply to:

People who can’t be bothered to spell check their writing…

People who don’t respect my time…

People who can’t be bothered to read…

And honestly, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my mental health…

Dealing with any of the 3 groups of people above leaves you mentally drained and frustrated.

So when this dude asked if he could ask a question – I didn’t reply.

Why would I?

This is obviously the type of person who is a time-waster.

I should only be replying to go-getting action takers who are willing to go above and beyond…

People who get to the point and value my time and their own.

But it didn’t end there:

The craziest thing happened.

The dude emailed me and said something that almost shocked me…

He said:

“Can you please help me by responding with what And then I will tell you”

You what mate?

I couldn’t believe this kid (no self-respecting adult would act like this) would purposely waste our time like this…

He’s not accidentally asking silly questions…

He’s intentionally wasting my time.

He understands that because he didn’t just ask his question, I gotta waste my time replying with an email that could have been completely avoided…

Instead of simply answering his question.

Even in his second email…he doesn’t just ask the question he wants the answer to…

And that’s not all…

He eventually sent another email, finally asking his question.

(basically asking me to provide a service for free…)

I ignored that too.

This is the EXACT opposite of the type of person I want to work with.

If you act like this – FIX UP NOW.

Nobody wants their time wasted.

If you have a question to ask someone – get to the fucking point.

If you’re lucky enough for someone to generously give you their time and answer your question – be thankful and appreciate it.

Nobody owes you anything.

If you reach out and ask for something – don’t make it hard for people to help you…

Better yet – offer something valuable and make it a no-brainer to help you.

Stop BEGGING people for help and start bringing value to the table.

If you make yourself valuable – people will WANT to help you.

And if you wanna ask me any questions:

Just ask your question. Don’t ask if you can ask.

Hot tip: don’t ask me a question that was answered in the same email you’re replying to.

(yes, people do this – it makes them look really stupid and lazy. Not the type of people I wanna work with)

I love to answer your music questions…

I don’t love my time being disrespected…

Neither do you…

Anyways, I have new music coming soon too:
