“The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can’t read them.” – Mark Twain
I’ve spent most of my life in education, but I’ve learned more on my own through reading books, actively doing things and experimentation than I ever learned in any educational establishment. If I only knew how useless school was back in the day, maybe I’d have consumed even more knowledge by now. Btw, I’ve passed all of my university assessments so far so woooo!
Recently I’ve been focusing my efforts on creating a sustainable income through my art and creative projects, this has required me to study marketing quite a lot. Any time I have some free time, I’ll check out a video on marketing tips and ideas or, if I really have the time I’ll sit down and read a book on marketing.
I’ve been really slacking on my reading in recent years, so I’ve decided to change that, I want to consume more knowledge and shit so I’m making it a goal to take more time out to read. I finished reading Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook by Gary Vaynerchuk yesterday, so today I’ve decided to start reading The Art of Social Media: Power Tips for Power Users by Guy Kawasaki. Tbh, I feel as though I’ve learned all I’ve got to learn about social media and shit, but I’ll let you guys know if this book is of any use.
Today I
- Spent most of the day editing my video for my song Lighthouse
- Started reading The Art of Social Media book
- Created my drum kit
