Usually I’d film videos today…
But here’s the thing:
I’ve got a bunch of videos uploaded and ready to release (over 2 weeks of content)
So I’m taking the day to focus on getting my latest song finished and ready to release.
I created a template that pretty much worked like magic…when I was using logic pro x.
(In 2016…it’s been a while)
Now, I gotta learn how to mix and master my songs again…
…Then create a template I can use to make the process easier and faster in the future…
But, I’ve made a dumb mistake:
I’ve pretty much been using trial and error.
Hoping for the best.
Fiddling around and seeing what works…
(I’ve exported over 5 different versions of my mastered song already…)
Here’s what I should’ve been doing instead:
Learning from people with more experience than me…
Watching tutorials, asking questions…
Creating a perfect starting point using the mistakes (and wisdom) of others.
Then, I can use my knowledge and preferences to move from that starting point…
To create the sound I want.
And, guess what?
This is the same way you should think about your music…
The truth is:
We don’t have all the skills we need when we start out…
But, by learning from others…
By studying what works…
By using references and then adding our own sauce…
We can become good at anything using our good friends:
Hard work and Patience…
That’s why I created the video I wanna share with you today.
If you wanna know how to start creating your own song…
If you wanna know how to start creating your own beats…
