Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. – Thomas A. Edison
When I first started making music I was kinda whack. If I had stopped after creating my first mixtape though I would have never have harnessed the ability to make quality music as I do today (that’s subjective, but I think it’s cool). The worst thing you can do whilst on your path to greatness is to quit when things get hard or give up because you’re not good enough. If you really want to do something, but you’re abysmal at it, put the effort and time into learning about your craft and commit to being better.
You only lose when you give up. No matter how long it takes for you to realise your dreams, you haven’t truly failed until you give up on those dreams. I see people who have given up on their dreams all the time, they say things like “it’s not for me” or “I don’t have the time” but that’s all bullshit. If you want it, you have to go and take it. It IS for you if you won’t take no for an answer. There’s 24 hours in each day; you DO have the time.
The question you need to ask yourself is “Do I really want to be successful?” Your first instincts will be to quickly reply “yes” but do you really want to be successful?
A lot of people say they want to be successful, but take no action to pursue their goals, they don’t work towards them every day, they don’t create an action plan for them to follow through and they have no idea how they’re going to get to the place they want to be. What are you working for everyday? What do you spend the most of your time doing?
Think about that.
Today I finished editing the music video for Lighthouse btw.
Holla at me on Twitter, let me know if I helped you in any way or at least made you take the time to think about where you want to be a year from now.
